The biggest reason the East hates the West is because we don't know what we believe .
Do we have to work for things or will the government give us what we need to make us good?
We can do a lot to ease our present fears of others with strong views by simply being stronger in our own faith
and rejecting the idea that we do not punish failure.

The biggest evidence for that is that the West teaches its children to just do what they think is important -- that idea is valueless, Good parents reject this failure to set value boundaries, good people of all faiths.The kids run amok when the Wests leaders reflect that worldview which says this.
I have my own faith that to me is very powerful but I feel for my Aussie friends who have no faith to speak of and who are clearly vulnerable.
Let's get 2 things clear ,
-What we really believe ( live by ( and
-what other see as failure points in our current Western culture.
To face our fears effectively we have to face the truth
Jung says we all have a religion and to not face that fact is not good for facing the future.
Many times amongst all groups the faith is as simple as" me my own god"
Western young people ( who are the most vulnerable to radicalization ) are the worst off because many of their parents preach an old form of desperate cynism ." That any religion is poison"-- a half truth at best . people who preach this simplicity are only preaching from the emptiness of their bicky barrel.
Jung, like all thinking people, will say that your religion is the most dangerous thing you own and therefore the cap must be worn by all , Test the dangers of each and especially which stupid and heretical ideas get excused by being misinterpreted by individuals who hide behind their particular faith badge, Religion is where good ideas half bad and very bad ideas hide.
The West is at risk ,as it always was by half truths and the distortions of good intentions by individuals and the propagation of them by movements ,
eg
-Arianism in the Christian religion .etc
-That freedom is obtained by doing what you like ( modern paganism)
